Caleb, and his artwork.

Caleb was born on January 16, 2000. He has been interested in shapes, patterns, and letters, almost obsessively, since he was 1 1/2 years old. When he watched cartoons, he always paid more attention to the logos on the bottom corner of the screen than the cartoon, and he used to sing himself to sleep with the alphabet. In the grocery store, he was fixated on the logos on packages, and to keep him occupied, I usually let him hold anything with a label on it, just so he could admire it. It usually kept him occupied for a long time!

Caleb learned the names of all the letters of the alphabet by the time he was 1 year and 9 months old. After that, he learned the sounds of them. He made it so easy for me to teach him...he would just ask me what letters on signs, cereal boxes, book covers, etc said, and I would answer him each time, and this is how he learned. By the time he was 2 years old, he knew the sounds of all the letters in the alphabet. From there, I taught him how to put the sounds together, and he was reading "I can read" books by the time he was 3 years old. I was, and still am, so proud of him!

Caleb started drawing when he was 2 years old...it started on the wall. I have painted over the walls over 20 times trying to cover up scribble marks....but after a while, the pictures were getting so cute that I had to take pictures before painting over them. I eventually convinced him to draw only on paper, and since then, he has drawn hundreds of drawings, of which I have kept at least 150- 200 in a box.

I have decided to keep his drawings on this site, so I can watch him improve, and let the world watch as well!

Caleb has always loved playing with the computer. He has fiddled with it since he was about 2 years old, and used to always be causing the computer to crash, or do something really strange. He eventually started learning what all those "clickety clicks" do, and he has gotten very good with Adobe Photoshop. I'm proud of what he's able to do with it! He surprises me with new pictures all the time. These are just a few samples of his many digital paintings.

My mother bought some legos for Caleb...a huge box of them. He was so thrilled with them and immediately began doing creative things with them. I can't say enough times how he impresses me with all the things he creates. I just think he's so smart! I'm sure it's partly a mother thing....after all, don't we all think our kids are the most talented people on this earth? lol

These are more recent pictures he has drawn...they are from ages 4 and 5. You will see many dinosaurs in this category....Dinosaurs are his favorite animal in the world.

These are things that Caleb did when he was 2 and 3 years old. At three years old he was able to read and write very well for his age, and I just had to save these. They are very special to me!
